What is Art?

Art is the Absolute rising through the subconscious to new initialize new awareness in the conscious mind.

Art—as well as beauty—is in the eye of the beholder. Art is created in the eye/mind/spirit of the onlooker with each viewing, be it what we traditionally consider the “artist”, or a passing appreciator. If no “artist” passes the grandest beauty, no art is seen; no art exists.

For the “artist”, art is ever present.

I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free. —Michelangelo

--or perhaps the angel was always free, but Michelangelo had to carve until he could shake off his and (many of) our preconceptions.

Words do not contain truth, but may reflect the truth that you hold within.
This is my truth. Only you can determine if there is any value in it for you.

C.G. Walters primarily writes fiction that focuses on the multidimensionality of our loves and our lives. His current novel, Sacred Vow is a metaphysical novel about a man who responds to the mysterious call of [his soulmate], opening the way to redefinition of both himself and his understanding of the world around him…Highly recommended. —Midwest Book Review.
