Solstice Celebration: The Earth Is My Church

[The] heart away from nature becomes hard. --Standing Bear

--and if the heart becomes hard, life becomes hard....

Whether you will be celebrating Summer or Winter solstice, my friend, I wish you and your dear ones continued blessings, and an ever-increasing sense of connection and communication with the Mother Earth.

Lyrics from Video:
The Earth Is My Church
by Periel Marr Stanfield, Alex Beroza & Brad Stanfield

When I put on my Sunday best
I proceed to get undressed
My holy temple requires no clothes
No high heels, no pantyhose

I’m not trying to be malicious
Heretical or sacrilegious
I’m not an atheist, it’s just the reverse
I’m a human soul on a spiritual search

The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth comes first

I don’t need no preacher man
No Sunday school, no master plan
No fiery hell, no mighty sword
No oxy-moronic “holy” wars

I don’t have to bash the bible
All I need for my survival
Is the sun, the sea, the sky, the dirt
And that’s the whole story, chapter and verse

The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth comes first

At one with nature’s innocence
The dolphins and the elephants
I kiss the trees, embrace the sky
I harmonize with the butterflies

Freedom is the final fruition
Of the fate of the human condition
Corruption of religion is history’s curse
Universal love’s the only vision of worth

The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth comes first

The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth is my church

The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth is my church
The earth is my church

Dark Visits: Bright light in the Dark Night of the Soul (SV4)

One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is love.—Sophocles

Sacred Vow, 4th installment, Chapter 4 (Dark Visits) (concept presentation)

This verse adaptation of the "Dark Visits" chapter of Sacred Vow focuses on the 'dark night of the soul' experience that we all encounter from time to time—wondering who we are, where we are going, and what calls us here.
The individual speaking has found himself drawn into a place—a 'dark night of the soul'—outside his logical understanding, outside his time and space. Though he feels fear for where it takes him, and knows that it is having negative impact on mind and body, some deeper part of self cannot let go of entering into the void—and knows that a great benefit results on the passing through (if only he can make it to the other side)

The most significant event of your life calls to you, from barely beyond your perception...both imminent and impossible. Highly recommended metaphysical novel about a man who responds to the mysterious call of a woman, opening the way to redefinition of himself and his understanding of the world.—Midwest Book Review

For my friends from Germany: If GEMA blocks this video, please try this link. I will continue to seek a way to make my videos available to you.

Sacred Vow is a metaphysical, visionary novel with a romantic focus. Destined soulmates/twinflames travel between many parallel realities, connecting with infinite expressions of their union. The awakening awareness is vital the the repairing a rift in the Absolute Reality.

Can the wind of a butterfly's wing effect climate on the other side of the world? Can the love of two souls heal a great wrong in the universe? "Sacred Vow" offers a page turning delight to cherish.

Ian Sarin enjoys his cup of tea but lately the ritual of it brings other delights. Recently his meditations have slipped into and OBE, visiting his soulmate (twinflame) in parallel dimensions. Visions of the woman play out in his perception, beckoning further visitation. Everything in the room must be just so, with teapot, caned chair, and Ian in place. He cannot hear her speak, but can see her mouthing words, sharing her life. Is this just a vision or is it something else? His reality soon becomes less important than the alternate one that he visits. Ian's health becomes affected and soon he needs help. While visiting an old friend in the mountains, he is introduced to Djalma, an interesting man whose presence comes into play in a large way. He will interact in Ian's life in ways he couldn't have imagined. The visions of Katerina become more intense and play out like episodes of a movie he has seen before. The question so important... why are the visits happening? The answer awaits on a scrap of paper that Ian had tucked away, a remnant of a dream, years before. He was chosen for this...but what exactly is this?

Reincarnation, collective consciousness, romance, love, and life purpose all play large roles. It is a deeply thoughtful and provocative tale that I could not put down. I simultaneously couldn't wait to get to the last page but also dreaded it ending. The author evokes a great understanding of these topics and the mysteries of the universe, yet shares his perceptions in a wonderfully easy to comprehend tone. Readers will come away wonder-filled and satisfied to have read "Sacred Vow."

It comes again...

The shape and mind of me disintegrates,
Until I am at home neither here nor there.
Five senses scream, starved of perception
yet Heart and spirit are overwhelmed with stimulation.

For the chance to know you
I am eager to pass through the veil once more,
Yet still fearful.
Form, now adrift into a formless place,
I free-fall through mists of memory and other lives.

Guide me, Spirit…

Since first entering this breach,
responding to a voice familiar but unknown,
there has been no anchor to secure me.
It opens without warning
and drops me where it may
to haunt for a time,
searching, searching....
for meaning, for the connection that lures me here.

Greetings, my friends,
Blessings to you and all you hold dear.

Thank you for watching this verse adaptation
of the "Dark Visits" chapter of Sacred Vow.

This work focuses on the 'Dark Night of the Soul' experience
that we all encounter now and again.
They give us much fear. They batter our mind and body
and yet, some deeper part of ourselves
know that not only must we enter into them
but pass through, so that we may encounter a greater self on the other side.

I wish you peace and guidance
when you find that you must make such a travel, my friend.

Namaste.

“Relax,” the teacher says.

Relaxation is the prerequisite to health, joy, wisdom and so much more.

Relax. It sounds so easy, yet based on how seldom we achieve it, relaxation must be one of the most complicated pursuits that we can undertake. I suspect part of the problem is in the language we use.

“Relax.” The word is a verb. Verbs are action. Used in such a way, the single word, Relax, is direction–a command to perform the action of no action, of release—of tranquility. Yet, performing or doing is contrary to the intention of the directive.

Relaxation is a state of being, like peace. What one needs to achieve this relaxation is not another activity or action but the Taoist Wu Wei, “non-doing”… release what you are (or have been) doing.

An excellent explanation of Wu Wei comes from Alan Watts:

“...Wu-Wei, meaning not to force, refers to what we understand of one’s acting accordingly to the nature, of one’s moving in order to avoid a stroke, of one’s swimming downstream, sailing before the wind, rolling like the waves or one’s bending in order to win.” (From Alan Watts - “Tao: the Watercourse Way”).

Another expression of this Taoist perspective comes from the

Tao Te Ching - verse 48

In the pursuit of learning, every day something is acquired.
In the pursuit of Tao, every day something is dropped.
Less and less is done.
Until non-action is achieved.
When nothing is done, nothing is left undone.
The world is ruled by letting things take their course.
It cannot be ruled by interfering.

You Are Spirit

We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.-- Anais Nin

Yes, Halloween has passed, but this subject is quite relevant.

Thanks to Unasleep for this excellent video.

I agree with the material is this video. As would be suggested in Sacred Vow,

for me, every moment of every day of every life--and all their infinite variations--exists forever. Awareness links/opens/excludes pasts/futures/presents to define what we perceive as past lives, etc.

For some, this linking can be changed, redefining (e.g) past lives, current skills...

The aching of the heart is the birth pang of awakening. It is
the condition of growth.
It can be the heartache of wanting to be nearer or the
mourning of loss, but it is a sign of love and therefore the
